Are you going to Charlevoix this summer?Don’t miss the exhibition Le mur des rapaces, part 3 by René Derouin. Presented at the Musée d’art contemporain de Baie-Saint-Paul, it presents a current issue and denounces the overconsumption society. The exhibition was first presented in Val-David, the artist’s home town, and in Guadalajara, Mexico. As early as the 1950s, Derouin studied pre-Columbian cultures and became familiar with Mexican mural art by studying at the Escuela de Pintura y escultura Esmeralda in Mexico City. Appreciated on several continents, René Derouin’s work is widely recognized in Quebec, Canada and abroad, more specifically in Mexico where he received the highest honours from the Mexican government. His works have also been exhibited in France, the United States, Venezuela, Australia and Japan. They are also found in several national and international collections. http://galerietheo.com/en/portfolio-items/rene-derouin-3/?portfolioID=2678
